Celebrating with our clients this awards season

Burnley Business Awards, here we come!

Awards season is officially upon us, and we cannot wait to dust off our gladrags, dig out our dancing shoes, and start celebrating!

The Early May Bank Holiday got off to a great start for the Root Fifty-Two team. While we were out and about having lunch in the sunshine and hitting the lanes at the local bowling alley, Director Kimberley received an email to say that we’d been shortlisted for the Small Business of the Year (1-19) category in the upcoming Burnley Business Awards!

“It was the perfect start to our long weekend,” says Kimberley. “The town and local area is a really important part of who we are as an agency - it’s where the company started, and it’s been our home for the last thirteen years. We’re proud to be based in Burnley, and we can’t wait to head to the awards and celebrate with our fellow Burnley-based businesses, some of whom are our valued clients.”

For our clients Fagan & Whalley and Equestrian Surfaces Ltd, it was a double-whammy! Copywriter Lolli has been hard at work over the last few weeks getting together their applications, and was delighted to see them both announced as finalists in their categories for Lancashire Business View’s Red Rose Awards a couple of weeks ago. When the news came in on Friday that they’d also both been shortlisted in the Burnley Business Awards, Lolli was immediately in party mode!

“I put a lot of time and effort into drafting the awards applications for both Fagan & Whalley and Equestrian Surfaces, so it was amazing to see them both shortlisted in both awards programmes,” says Lolli. “I’ve worked closely alongside both teams since my very first day on the job here at Root Fifty-Two - almost three years ago now - and as a result I like to think we’ve built up quite a strong working relationship over the years.

“In putting together the content for both companies’ websites, PR, email marketing, and offline marketing materials, I’ve learned a lot about who they are as a business, what they do, and, most importantly, why they do what they do. There’s a lot of work that goes into putting the applications together for these awards, and having an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the company you’re writing about is absolutely paramount. I was already chuffed to have been able to submit awards applications that I was actually proud of on the behalf of both companies. To know that the effort I put in has helped them become finalists in their respective categories feels great!

“Fagan & Whalley have been announced as finalists in the Family Business category for Lancashire Business View’s Red Rose Awards, and they’re also up for Large Business of the Year at Burnley Business Awards. Equestrian Surfaces are finalists in the Export Award and Green Award categories for Red Rose, and they’re also finalists for the Small Business of the Year (20-49) Award at Burnley Business Awards. The deadlines were tight, but we did it, and I’ll be keeping everything crossed for them both to bring home some trophies on the night!”

Red Rose Awards winners will be announced at a big glitzy awards event held at Blackpool Winter Gardens on 9th June, and after receiving an invitation to attend the event as a guest of Equestrian Surfaces, along with Designer Lindsay, Lolli’s already started with the preparations, with outfit plans well underway! She’s also excited to celebrate our own shortlisting with the rest of the R52 team at the Burnley Business Awards at Towneley Hall on 30th June.

Good luck to all of the finalists. We can’t wait to see you there!

Looking for help with website content, blogs, PR, or email marketing? Where words are concerned, Lolli is your girl! Whether you’ve got a specific project in mind, or you’re looking to chat through some options for your long-term marketing strategy, she’ll be on hand to answer any of your questions, so get in touch today!
