Birchall Foodservice is celebrating a major achievement after winning Best Wholesaler (turnover up to £50m) at the 2025 FWD Gold Medal Awards, alongside a brilliant individual win for Jonny Carroll, who was crowned this year’s Telesales Star.
The national awards, held in London, recognise the very best talent and innovation across the food and drink wholesale sector. This year’s results mark a proud moment for the Burnley-based, family-run business as it continues to grow, innovate and deliver exceptional service to caterers across the UK.
Jonny’s win reflects his remarkable accuracy, product knowledge, and genuine care for customers. Known for his positivity, determination and “Mr Fix-It” reputation, Jonny been instrumental in delivering customer satisfaction.
Birchall Foodservice was also recognised with the highly coveted Best Wholesaler award, celebrating a year of strong growth, operational improvements, sustainable investment, and customer-focused innovation, including the continued development of OrderMate, the expansion of its 7,000-strong product range, and the successful onboarding of large, group education accounts.
The company also proudly acknowledges Keri Donaldson, who was a finalist for the Customer Development Award. Keri has supported customers with allergen training, menu development and major growth projects, and is widely admired for her energy, honesty and support for colleagues.
