Ben meets the standard for retirement advice
A Lancashire-based financial adviser has been given a prestigious accreditation for his knowledge in advising people on retirement matters.Ben Harrison, who works at Moore and Smalley Chartered Accountants, has gained the Retirement Advice Standard from the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA).
The standard is an endorsement of Ben’s skills and experience in working with, and understanding the needs of people at, and in, retirement. Ben is thought to be the only adviser in the North West to currently hold the Retirement Advice Standard from SOLLA.It is only available to qualified financial advisers who regularly practice in the retirement market, who are committed to keeping their knowledge up-to-date through structured Continued Personal Development, and who work in an appropriate environment to support their ongoing development.
Ben said: “Advising people about their finances in retirement is a niche area, but it’s one that requires the very latest knowledge about financial products and services, not to mention the other nuances of advising older clients.“It’s a real privilege to have those skills recognised with this accreditation. Gaining the standard further evidences my commitment to advising clients who are approaching retirement and who are planning for later life.”
Ben’s areas of expertise include long term care planning, investment advice, equity release, cash flow planning and inheritance tax planning.
As well as the Retirement Advice Standard, Ben already holds the later life SOLLA accreditation and he is also a Chartered Financial Planner.
