Alcedo Care Group has appointed Jenna Blackshaw as group head of HR.
Reporting to managing director Andy Boardman, she is responsible for developing the human resources and people strategy within the fast-growing family home care group, working closely with the management team to provide coaching and advice on all employee-related issues.
The commitment and dedication of its 1000-strong team has been integral to the recent growth and success of Alcedo Care Group, with every individual valued highly for their ongoing contribution.
Attracted by this and the company’s family values and reputation within the industry, Jenna was delighted to secure the position of group head of HR and has made an immediate start.

Having worked at a senior level in HR for the last 11 years, Jenna brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Prior to joining Alcedo, she worked within Ofsted registered children’s residential homes, at an NHS Trust for mental health and learning disabilities at Calderstones Hospital in the Ribble Valley and Ashworth High Secure Hospital in Maghull, Liverpool.
She also holds a CIPD Level 3 Certificate in HR Practice and CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Human Resource Management and is due to commence her CIPD Level 7 in Strategic People Management later this year.
One of her first tasks at Alcedo is to support an upcoming project designed to further develop and invest in the employee team. Known as the Alcedo Rising Stars Career Pathway, the programme provides clear career opportunities and includes specialised training, funding, qualifications, coaching and mentoring to enable employees to succeed in their career aspirations and journeys.

Married with two young sons, 35-year-old Jenna is originally from St Helens but now lives in Chorley. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, on bike rides and Pilates. She’s also a fan of HR podcasts and enjoys listening to the odd one every now and again.
