Ain’t no fundraising challenge too big for Denwa
A charitable team from Barrowford IT and Telecoms specialists Denwa are not content with organising one, two or even three fundraising events this year; they are organising four separate events.From football to cycling, climbing the three peaks to a masquerade ball, the company’s fundraising team is planning a diverse range of events to get as many staff and clients involved as possible, and raise valuable funds for two charities.
CEO Rob Scott and account manager Tom Bradley have issued a rallying cry to local businesses to enter 5-a-side football teams into a tournament being held at Crow Wood on Sunday 19th April. At £100 a team to enter, all proceeds will be donated to Derian House Children’s Hospice.Staff will then be swapping their football kits for lycra as they jump on two wheels for the Great Manchester Cycle ride on 28th June in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. Operations Director Dave Mallabourn will be leading a strong team on the route around Manchester and Trafford.
Stamina and a head for heights will then be needed on the 25th July as Web Developer Daniel Moore leads a team on the National 3 Peaks in a 24 hours challenge. Aiming to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within one day, the team are collecting sponsorship for Derian House.After this summer of physical activities, there is a more relaxing and glamorous finale planned for Denwa’s final fundraising activity of the year. Bertram’s restaurant at Crow Wood will host a masquerade ball on 23rd October, organised by project manager Steph Holroyd and installation coordinator Michelle Abbott. Guests at the event in aid of Derian House will enjoy live entertainment, a three course meal and auction. “The range of activities being planned by our fundraising team is fantastic because it is getting so many staff and clients involved,” said Rob Scott. “The events are great for staff morale, getting everyone involved in fundraising and planning for the activities, but most importantly, we hope they raise some very valuable funds for two fantastic charities.”
