The launch of a brand new website for Accrington Market supports the town on its quest to re-establish itself as the go to location for shopping in the North West.

The website has been designed with the history and heritage of both the town and market hall in mind but with a modern feel to attract new shoppers.

Sameena King, market manager for Accrington Market said: “It’s been a difficult time for all, however it’s very exciting to now see most business opening back up. Our aim is to promote all our lovely loyal traders and the things Accrington Market has to offer. Without our customers old and new, we would simply not be able to keep this amazing building running.

"We encourage everyone to shop with us and support local business. Since the launch of our website and our hard work to increase our online presence via social media, we have had a large number of new traders contact us for information about becoming their own boss by starting up their own business. We are excited as to what the future holds at Accrington Market, follow us to keep up to date."

Accrington Market Hall is located on the town square in the centre of the town.  The Grade 2 listed building is steeped in history with it’s routes being traced back to the early 1300’s.  The new website brings the facility up to date but maintains the tradition on which the town is based.

The new look site provides a one-stop-shop for customers to find out about the traditional traders, opening times, events and even offers provided by the stall holders.  The look and feel of the site has been created to tie in with the existing logo and entice new visitors to the market.

The website was designed and built by The Web Surgery. Managing director, Grant Brookes, commented, “We are delighted to be working with Sameena King and her team at Accrington Market and look forward to continuing our work to reach out to a wider audience, helping to drive footfall, increase sales and improve the brand in new and exciting ways.”

The indoor and outdoor market stalls offer a wide range of products and services.  Behind the carved façade lies a treasure trove of traders who pride themselves on their finest, freshest, produce and goods. As a well-known town in the region, Accrington has long standing customers who travel to take advantage of the goods available.  From fresh food and drink to clothes or electrical equipment, there is a stall to meet the needs of every shopper.

The indoor market operates over six days and the outdoor provides shopping and different types of markets over several days.

Accrington is on a mission to become a prosperous and bustling town once again and the feedback on the website launch has been extremely positive.  The aim is to work in conjunction with other areas of the town to drive footfall and encourage people to ‘shop local’.  Small businesses in the town have seen an incredible level of support during the pandemic as people have sought to utilise the convenience and lower prices often found on markets.  The website will seek to grow on this loyalty and evolve as more traders provide offers and events resume.

Accrington has excellent public transport links and the town itself offers free parking for up to two hours in many areas, boutique shops, bars, restaurants and beauty salons.  There are many reasons to visit the town but for those that are unable to travel, local deliveries are now being offered by a number of businesses with the details on the site.

As the world starts to open up, Accrington Market Hall has already thrown open the doors, launched the website and is ready to welcome customers.  With lots of plans in place for the year ahead, Accrington is on target to become a thriving town once again.
