Zapgo, the UK-based electric vehicle (EV) charge point operator bringing rapid and reliable EV charging to handpicked local destinations, has started construction on its new EV charging hub at the Stanley Club, which is expected to go live in September 2025.

The installation will bring public charging to drivers and residents in Burscough, Lancashire and will feature two 200kW chargers and 4 bays, including 2 fully accessible bays.
With free parking, 24/7 customer support and easy-to-use contactless payments, Zapgo will deliver a convenient rapid charging experience to all its customers.
Zapgo aims to be at the heart of the communities across the UK that it serves, providing regular income for site partners through a revenue share from every charge, driving footfall to local businesses from passing traffic, and supporting school and community initiatives that promote greener living.
Safe working, minimising disturbance and reducing disruption to pedestrians are key priorities for Zapgo during construction.
Neil Mahapatra, CEO of Zapgo, said: “The Stanley Club is an important community hub which has been bringing people together successfully for 20 years. We’re thrilled to be installing rapid charging infrastructure in Burscough, opening up the switch to EVs as a practical option for local residents and visitors.”
Steve Holmes, Build and Development Director at Zapgo, said: “Zapgo are passionate about providing reliable access to charging infrastructure in destinations love to visit, so we are proud to be bringing rapid and reliable rapid EV charging to the community of Burscough and those visiting this historic location.”
