Viva’s work with Rossendale Borough Council and Burnley College saw the Lancashire PR agency take home two campaign awards at the PRCA DARE Awards North West.

The agency was also Highly Commended in the Medium Consultancy of the Year category.

Viva won the top prize in the Public Sector category for a second consecutive year, with the agency’s ‘Check Before You Chuck’ recycling campaign for Rossendale Borough Council coming out on top this time.

The ‘Walk In My Shoes’ student recruitment campaign for Burnley College University Courses (BCUC) won the Integrated Campaign of the Year Award, after generating 12,000 new visits to the College’s website and increasing application numbers by 288 per cent.

Viva was named as Highly Commended in the Medium Consultancy of the Year in recognition of its transformational journey and the measures put in place to look after its 14-strong team.

Tony Garner, Viva’s founder and MD, said: “Winning the Public Sector award for the second year running tells me we’re delivering on our promises to clients and staying true to our values of working with clients that deliver social good, especially initiatives that have a positive impact on the environment.

“The ‘Walk In My Shoes’ campaign was incredibly effective at driving applications to Burnley College University Courses – we saw a 288 per cent increase over the course of the campaign which the client was very pleased with.

“Being recognised as an agency by industry experts means a lot as founder of Viva – we’ve only recently qualified for the Medium Consultancy category, so receiving a Highly Commended is a huge stride in the right direction.”

Rob Huntington, chief executive at Rossendale Borough Council, said: “The ‘Check Before You Chuck’ campaign saw a 15 per cent increase in glass and aluminium recycling, an 11 per cent increase in paper recycling and a reduction in general waste of 6 per cent.

“The is real impact of a great campaign and winning a PR award is fantastic news – huge thank you to our PR team at Viva PR.”

The winners were announced at the awards ceremony on 14th June at the Lowry Theatre in Manchester. The full list of winners is online here.
