Training 2000 welcomes new head of business development

A new head of business development has been appointed by Blackburn-based Training 2000 to help promote its training and recruitment offer across the North West and beyond.

Thirty two year-old Sian Wilson has more than a decade of experience in the industry. Prior to her role at Training 2000, she worked as head of corporate sales for eleven years at the largest national training provider in the UK, JHP Group Ltd.

Originally from Leeds, Sian, who now lives in Hebden Bridge, said her new role is challenging but she is looking forward to expanding the training provider’s offerings throughout the region and nationally.

“I am delighted to be given this fantastic opportunity and I am thrilled to be working for such a reputable training provider,” she said.

“It’s a challenging move in the fact that I’ve come from a large provider, but I hope I can pass on my vast UK-widebusiness development knowledge and experience to help Training 2000 to expand its portfolio throughout the North West as well as put us on the map across the UK and internationally.

“My role will be to work closely with employers to promote the benefits and importance of apprenticeships and training. I will be looking at Training 2000’s business strategy and ensuring that it continues to provide the best training and support possible.

“I will also be working very closely with the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and looking at new ways of learning by introducing new technologies for employers and learners alike such as utilising webinars and e-portfolios.” Steve Gray, chief executive at Training 2000 added: “The head of business development is a vital role to the success of any business, and after a thorough recruitment process, I am delighted that we have been able to appoint someone of Sian’s calibre who will bring enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge to the team.”
