Great Harwood Rovers is celebrating the continuation of its long-standing partnership with Townfield Mobility, after the Great Harwood business signed a new three-year sponsorship deal with the grassroots football club.
Townfield Mobility first became naming sponsor of the Townfield Mobility Arena in 2023, but the family's connection with Great Harwood Rovers stretches back much further.
The Timmins family has supported the club for more than 25 years, with Michael and John both playing for the club in their youth.
The latest agreement will see the Townfield Mobility name remain proudly displayed at the Arena for a further three years, providing valuable financial support to help the volunteer-run club continue providing grassroots football for local children.
Great Harwood Rovers has been part of the local community since 1975, providing football opportunities for girls and boys from its Mini League for four to six-year-olds through to its older junior teams.
Nigel Sutton, Chairman of Great Harwood Rovers, said: “This isn’t just a sponsorship arrangement - there is a genuine connection between the Timmins family and Great Harwood Rovers which goes back decades, so it means a great deal to us that they want to continue being part of the club.”
Mark Sheridan, Vice Chairman added: “Support from local businesses like Townfield Mobility is incredibly important. It helps us keep the club accessible for local families, keep subs as affordable as possible and continue investing in and maintaining the facilities our players enjoy.
“We’re very grateful for their continued support and look forward to another three years together.”
Michael Timmins, of Townfield Mobility, said: “Great Harwood Rovers has been part of our family’s life for many years, so renewing our sponsorship for another three years was something we were very pleased to do.
“The club does a fantastic job for children and families in Great Harwood, giving young people somewhere to play football, stay active, make friends and build their confidence. We’re even launching a social media competition to give £50 to the best goal celebration we’re tagged in every month.
“We’re a local family business and being able to support something which makes such a positive difference within our own community is really important to us.
“We’ve been proud to see the Townfield Mobility name on the Arena over the last three years and we’re looking forward to continuing that relationship.”
Townfield Mobility is based on Queen Street in Great Harwood and provides a wide selection of mobility products and living aids designed to help people maintain their independence and quality of life.
