Top tips: Password protection
by StoneHouse Logic
These days there's a never ending stream of online and offline account passwords, pins, usernames and logins we need to keep safe.
Here's how best to go about it:
- Keep your cards close to your chest, and your passwords even closer. Sharing is stupid.
- Maintain them in an encrypted (password protected) file on your computer - then really you'll only have one to remember.
- Don't fall foul of spammers trying to pull the wool over your eyes and take your passwords out from under your nose. If it smells dodgy, it probably is!
- Avoid logging in on publicly accessible desktops. They're rife with malware, spyware and adware that'll pinch your priceless details.
