Swansway Group helps Circus Starr continue to put smiles on families' faces

Swansway Group, a family owned business, shows its enduring support for inclusive entertainment with a further donation to not-for-profit Circus Starr.

2021 sees Swansway Group, which owns Blackburn Audi, Preston Audi and Volkswagen Van Centre Lancashire, enter its fifth year of continued support for Circus Starr.

As the UK slowly starts to lift lockdown restrictions and many of us start to look forward to seeing friends and family and attending summer events, Swansway Group together with many families is looking forward to seeing Circus Starr returning with its Big Top Tour! To help the Circus return, Swansway Group has announced its latest donation, which is the highest yet.

Despite all their sales showrooms being closed throughout the first three months of the year, Swansway customers ordered an amazing 292 Motability vehicles, creating a sizeable donation of £5,840 to Circus Starr.

For every vehicle sold on the Motability Scheme, Swansway Group donates £20 to enable a child and their carer to go to a Circus Starr show. Circus Starr has not been able to host any shows throughout 2020, or as of yet in 2021.

So the donations made by Swansway Group have instead been used to directly support Circus Starr and both organisations are very hopeful that (subject to government announcements), the first show of 2021 will be able to take place on 27th June in Stoke-on-Trent.

Swansway Group director, David Smyth said: “We’re so looking forward to seeing Circus Starr return and we can’t wait to see the smiles on all of the children’s, and their families’ faces.

“Being able to continue our support over the last 12 months has been so important to us and we hope everyone can return to enjoy the shows soon”.

Sarah Hall, communications and engagement manager at Circus Starr commented: “There is no denying that this past year has been tough, and it’s been tough on so many of the families who we usually get to see every year at our shows and bring some joy to. The support from Swansway Group really is invaluable and we can’t say thank you enough.

“We hope to see our children and families again soon and get our fabulous show back out on the road!”

The Motability Scheme is open to anyone in receipt of higher rate mobility allowance (such as the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment or the Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance). Recipients can exchange all or part of their allowance to lease a Motability car such as an SUV, saloon, hatchback or MPV across a wide range of vehicle makes.
