Successful apprentice invited to Microsoft HQ

Jacob Collard from Stonehouse Logic was invited to Microsoft UK HQ in Reading as part of the Microsoft Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony.

The trip was a reward for successfully passing the Microsoft Apprentice Programme and being one of the first to achieve thd accolade.

The certificates were presented by two of the senior team of Microsoft UK, one of whom was Derrick McCourt, general manager, UK public sector who is also a member of the Microsoft UK board.

Some of the facts presented at the graduation were that: • Apprentices estimate that they earn 38% more on their annual gross salary than if they hadn’t undertaken a Microsoft Apprenticeship • In 2012/13, official Microsoft programmes accounted for just under 25% of all IT Advanced and Higher Apprenticeship starts with more ‘unofficial’ starts are not tracked.

Jacob was trained by IT Skillsman in their innovative Microsoft Apprentice Programme that is rapidly becoming a favourite for IT companies looking for staff with appropriate skills. The Microsoft Apprentice Programme gives young people a ‘fast-track’ apprentice productivity with a 2 day ‘induction’ at Microsoft HQ and tutor-led ‘virtual classes’ up to 4 times per week which replicates physical classroom.
