StoneHouse Logic has all the right elements for Blackburn Chemicals

Following issues with a previous IT support provider, Blackburn Chemicals switched to StoneHouse Logic to provide a faster and more efficient off-site service, as well as a reliable on-site response if the problem was severe enough to warrant parachuting someone in.

The partnership with StoneHouse Logic has proven crucial to the business’s bottom line.

World leaders in foam control, Blackburn Chemicals was formed in 1972 by the present chairman, George Lamb. At various stages of the company’s development five of George’s children joined the company and shared his vision of a privately owned family business successfully competing around the world in their specialist market.

The business employs 45 people at its Cunliffe Road site in Blackburn, and has invested heavily in recent years to improve its research and development facilities to ensure it remains a key and innovative player in its industry.

Blackburn Chemicals previous IT support company had been considerably lacklustre in their handling of enquiries from the team, and it had been very hard work to get a response on urgent matters. The level of service needed elevating considerably, and StoneHouse Logic were keen to develop trust from Blackburn Chemicals that they were more reliable, responsive and easier to deal with.

Nicola Grundy of Blackburn Chemicals commissioned StoneHouse Logic. She said: “Right from our first enquiry the interest that the team at StoneHouse showed was on a new level to what we had been used to. We had a couple of on-site visits and hardware assessments, and that was all before we had started our partnership with them. That commitment to us hasn’t diminished in all the time they have worked for us, and it feels as though every member of the team is pleasant and doing their absolute best.

“Another consideration was that our previous supplier was located on the south coast, and sending any faulty hardware proved taxing and time-consuming. StoneHouse Logic are just a junction down the motorway from us, and if a problem arises, they’re very quick to respond.”

StoneHouse Logic encouraged Nicola and the team at Blackburn Chemicals to take up a gold network support contract. This matched perfectly with the needs of the firm and has proven a value investment as it has meant no lost sales due to IT failures.

Nicola added: “Now that StoneHouse are taking care of us, I don’t have any of the frustrations of down time. It was always a real bugbear to be losing sales because our email software or IT systems were down. It’s not something any business can afford, and I’m relieved it’s no longer on my radar.

“Following the installation of our new servers, we’ve seen an impressive upturn in the speed of our desktops and all the software programmes we run, which we are delighted with. It all leads to much more efficient working. “As a growing business, we always have new people who need to be up and running as soon as they arrive, and configured to our network so they can really hit the ground running. We’re sure StoneHouse will continue to provide an excellent service to us for many years to come.”
