Sowena Group champions Lancashire’s Red Rose Awards as sponsor

The chief executive of a leading accountancy recruitment services provider has spoken of his pride at being involved in the Red Rose Awards 2025.

Perran Cooke, from Sowena Group, has signed up to sponsor the ‘medium business’ category in Lancashire’s leading celebration of business excellence.

Perran and Sowena Group work to recruit people for senior finance posts in high-growth and private equity and venture capital-backed businesses in Lancashire as well as the wider North West and London.

It is the sixth year Perran has personally backed the event, which highlights the very best of Lancashire’s business community.  Perran believes the Red Rose Awards provide the perfect showcase for “incredible” businesses.

The awards, now in their 15th year, will be announced at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on March 13, 2025. They are presented by Lancashire Business View.

Perran said: “I have been working in the local market with high-growth SMEs and medium sized businesses that on their fantastic journey.

“It is great to see so many amazing businesses having the pride of the Red Rose and what it stands for.”

Perran added that “sponsoring the ‘medium business’ award was something close to his heart.

He said: “The medium business category crosses so many different sectors and industries. It is incredible to see the businesses that are at £10m to £15m to £20m stage and pushing on through towards large.”

He said: “It is the unity of businesses locally that are getting together to celebrate successes. You want to be there on the night because you are a part of Lancashire.”

There are 23 different categories this year to enter and the deadline for nominations is midnight December 13.

Entries are open now for the awards and the ‘medium business’ category recognises firms in any sector with between 21 and 99 employees.

The Red Rose Awards are in association with Forbes Solicitors and Barclays. The judging partner is Burnley College and the validation partner is RSM.
