Seriun has completed its extraordinary Snowdon Fridge Challenge, raising £3,617.85 for Burnley FC in the Community and bringing together colleagues, customers, partners and supporters behind a brilliant local cause.
The challenge saw Wayne Fulton, Seriun’s head of cyber, carry a fridge to the summit of Snowdon and back down again, supported throughout by fellow team members Grant Haida, Timon Holden, Joseph Joinson, James Whillock, Laura Brown and Mark Edwards.
Taking on Wales’ highest mountain is no small task at the best of times, but adding a fridge made this a challenge unlike anything Wayne and the team had attempted before. From steep steps to the sheer physical effort involved, it was a demanding day from start to finish.
The challenge was organised in support of Burnley FC in the Community, Seriun’s charity partner, which delivers vital programmes across Burnley and the surrounding area. Its work supports both young people and the elderly, improves health and wellbeing, promotes inclusion and creates opportunities for people across the local community.
Wayne Fulton said: “This was easily one of the toughest challenges I’ve done, but the support we received made a huge difference. Every donation, message and bit of encouragement helped keep us going. I’m proud to have completed the challenge and raise money for Burnley FC in the Community.”
Laura Brown added: "Most people would look at Snowdon and think climbing it was enough. Wayne looked at it and thought, 'How can I make this harder?' Carrying a fridge up a mountain is exactly the sort of challenge you'd expect him to take on!
"It was a tough day, but seeing the support from customers, partners, friends and family made it all worthwhile. We're incredibly proud of what we've achieved together."
Seriun would like to thank everyone who got behind the challenge, from those who donated, to our amazing sponsors and to everyone who followed the team's progress and helped spread the word.
If you thought carrying a fridge up Snowdon was ambitious, don't get too comfortable. The team are already planning an even bigger fundraising challenge for 2027.
Stay tuned!
