London based consolidator in the UK technical services sector Empower Technical Services has acquired Blackburn water industry specialists Rosewood Engineering for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 1990, Rosewood has built a trusted client base comprising UK utility companies in addition to principal civil and mechanical contractors.
The company carries out a range of mechanical installations, maintenance and refurbishment projects for essential water and wastewater treatment equipment.
Nigel Feeney and Mark Feeney, managing directors of Rosewood, said: "We all are excited to become part of the Empower Group and to work alongside Nick Manning and his team.
"Joining the Empower Group will now provide the backing and support to push the company forward and continue to deliver a high-quality service for our valued customers."
Nick Manning, chief executive of Empower, said: "We are very excited to welcome Rosewood into the Empower Group.
"Nigel and Mark have built a great business, with deep technical expertise of the water industry, allowing us to expand our offering in the sector.
"We see significant potential for the business and look forward to helping the team grow even faster under our stewardship."
Rosewood is the third acquisition completed by the Empower group in seven months, following its formation in May 2025.
The Blackburn firm joins Empower as part of a targeted buy and build strategy.
Empower Technical Services is actively building a national footprint by integrating high-quality regional businesses across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, renewables, and facilities management.
The acquisition of Rosewood Engineering further strengthens Empower’s position in the sector and contributes to its goal of establishing six regional hubs throughout the UK within five years.
It has a mission to build a market leader in UK technical services, uniting complementary capabilities with outstanding entrepreneurs to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions for commercial and industrial clients.
Salford based Shawbrook Bank worked closely with Empower's management to structure a bespoke funding package to meet the company’s evolving needs.
John Palmer, senior director at Shawbrook said: “Empower’s strategic approach and clear commitment to building a leading technical services group made them an ideal partner.
"We are delighted to have provided a funding solution that supported the acquisition of Rosewood Engineering and will continue to support Empower on their journey of growth and diversification.”
Shoosmiths provided legal and advisory support to Shawbrook, while Wilson Partners delivered financial due diligence for Empower, with Osborne Clarke acting as Empower’s legal advisor - ensuring a smooth and seamless process from inception through to completion.
