Runway Training, a leading provider of specialist support for adult learners and a long-term client of Blackpool-based Roadshow Promotions has hired a modular double decker bus for their Multiply educational campaign tour. Multiply, a government initiative, helps adults develop their numeracy skills and understand how these skills can be applied in daily life at home and work.

As part of the Multiply tour, the double decker bus has been used as a hub to engage with communities in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, making stops at prominent locations such as Cambridge Retail Park, Imperial War Museum Duxford, and in Ely and Wisbech. The educational bus serves as a mobile learning hub, providing interactive experiences and educational resources to help adults enhance their numeracy skills and gain confidence in using them in their daily lives.

The double decker bus, which is part of Roadshow's modular promotional bus fleet, has been tailored to fit the specific needs of the tour with external and internal branding, a seating layout to aid learning, as well as a hospitality and kitchen area to provide refreshments for all those who stepped aboard. The Roadshow team also provided a driver and took care of all the logistics for the tour. The modular design of the bus has allowed for quick recommissioning during breaks in the tour, ensuring that it was efficiently and quickly deployed for the future legs of the campaign.

Runway Training is dedicated to supporting adult learners in acquiring new skills and qualifications, and the Multiply tour, with a bus at its fore, aims to bring these opportunities right to the heart of local communities. By offering accessible and engaging activities, Runway Training hopes to empower individuals to grow their confidence and proficiency in numeracy.

Visitors to the educational bus included a wide range of individuals, from representatives of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), local councillors and Chamber of Commerce officials and, most importantly, the hard-to-reach members of the public. The diverse range of visitors reflects the broad appeal and relevance of Runway Training’s Multiply tour, demonstrating the importance of numeracy skills across various sectors of the community.

“We are excited to bring our Multiply tour to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, where we can connect with individuals in the community and provide valuable support for enhancing their numeracy skills,” said Martin Bartlam, head of business development at Runway Training. “Our goal is to make numeracy more approachable and relevant to people’s lives, and we are thrilled to be able to do so in such a dynamic and engaging way.”

The initiative has been well-received, with community members expressing enthusiasm for the creative approach to learning maths that the Multiply tour offers. Runway Training’s innovative use of the double decker educational bus has allowed them to effectively reach diverse audiences and create meaningful impact in the regions visited.

Roadshow Promotions' director Natasha Greenley expressed her delight with the campaign, saying: “Runway Training is a long-standing customer, and we applaud their innovative approach to training. What they are doing with the Multiply tour is truly inspiring and is sure to have a positive impact on individuals of all ages. By taking education to the streets, they are breaking down barriers and empowering people to embrace numeracy in a whole new way.”

Through promotional marketing tours, Roadshow Promotions help national organisations and global brands get ‘out there’ and make an impact. Companies can get a quote for a bus in under a minute here.
