Red Rose Awards

A project which supports the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people across Lancashire has received a boost to its fundraising ambitions after being selected as the official charity of the Red Rose Awards programme in 2024.

The awards, launched in 2011, celebrate the best Lancashire business success stories, culminating in a black tie awards extravaganza held at Winter Gardens Blackpool on March 14.

This year’s programme will raise funds for the Lancashire Red Rose Responding Fund as it aims to reach the milestone of £500,000 raised.

The project was launched in 2021 by the Community Foundation for Lancashire in response to an increasing demand for help to support the mental health and wellbeing of people of all ages and backgrounds, particularly those most vulnerable, throughout the county.

Its first focus was helping people through the Covid-19 pandemic, now much of its work is helping people navigate the cost-of-living crisis.

Stephen Bolton, managing director of Lancashire Business View, said: “The Red Rose Awards shines a spotlight on the best, most creative and most inspiring organisations in Lancashire.

“With over 1,000 people attending the ceremony, and tens of thousands of more following along online and in print, we’ve created a unrivalled platform to be able to help good causes.

“We’ve seen the excellent work that the Community Foundation has done in the four years that we have been working together, and we’re excited about the opportunity to bring this special fund so much closer to its goal by naming it as our charity partner of choice for our biggest event of the year.”

Emma Peacock, marketing and communications manager for the Community Foundation for Lancashire, said: “We are delighted to be Charity Partner and sponsor of the Environmental, Social and Governance Award at this year’s Red Rose Awards.

“We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Lancashire Business View and the Red Rose Awards, all the donors, and to all the fundraisers, who have partnered with us, for their efforts and generous contributions so far. Yet we have ambitions to do so much more and with existing and potential new partners would like to reach £500,000 by the end of 2024.”

Funds will be raised in the run up to the awards and on the night.

The Red Rose Awards are in association with Forbes Solicitors and Barclays. The judging partner is Lancaster University and the validation partner is RSM.
