Rawtenstall Market will return to its original home in summer 2027 after Pioneer Market Group was appointed to lead its future operations.
The market is currently operating from its temporary location on the town square while essential works continue as part of the wider regeneration of the town centre.
Pioneer Market Group will oversee the market’s operations, trader offer and events programme as Rawtenstall Market prepares to move back to its refurbished site.
Nick Harris, lead member for economic development at Rossendale Borough Council, said: “The market is an important part of our town’s identity, and appointing Pioneer Market Group marks a really positive step forward.
“Their experience, energy and commitment to supporting independent businesses aligns perfectly with our ambitions for the market’s long term future.
“As we look ahead to the market returning to its original site in 2027, this partnership will help us create a vibrant, welcoming space that residents, traders and visitors can be proud of.”
Lindsay Rawson, market officer at Rossendale Borough Council, added: “I’m looking forward to creating a market that continues to feel special to the community and sits alongside the vibrant borough wide market offer.”
James Wrigley, commercial director at Pioneer Market Group, said: “Our goal is to support independent businesses and create a destination that everyone can be proud of. We can’t wait to open the doors to the refurbished market in 2027.”
