On the Peg targets shooting market

A new Padiham business has launched, selling clothing aimed at the growing ladies’ shooting market.

On The Peg Clothing has been launched by shooting enthusiast Sorrel Miller, who shoots and has over 15 years of experience of working gun dogs, alongside co-founder and competition clay pigeon shooter, Cathryn Miller.

The new business will sell clothes for ladies that shoot clay and game. It will initially trade online, with a bricks and mortar styling studio to follow.

The range offered by On The Peg also also caters for ladies involved in a range of field sports and outdoor leisure pursuits, with boots, scarves, waterproofs and twee among the stock.

Sorrel Miller said: “There are some fabulous pieces for ladies out there, but often they are hidden away behind clothes for men – and ladies don’t have the time to trawl through six or seven websites to compare items. Many of these items also can’t cope with the practicalities of shooting. On The Peg Clothing brings together the best of ladies’ clothing that is functional and looks good.

“Most ladies’ clothing only goes up to a size 16, so we are looking to offer up to size 22 and above. Ladies come in all shapes and sizes and are particular about how their clothes fit – one brand may fit well, but another would be better suited to a different body shape." Sorrel added: “We are excited that the big brands in the market are already on board, alongside newer independents, so the offering includes everything from House of Cheviot through to Claire Shaw Scarves, Laksen, Alan Paine, Emma Brown Tweed and Jinx and Jive.”
