North Lancs Expo returns for third year

The North Lancs Expo will return this September, the third year that Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce and Lancaster Council has hosted the popular event.

Taking place across Friday September 20 and Saturday September 21, it will maintain its dual focus of one day committed to building b2b relationships, and the second engaging with the b2c community.

Friday will be a networking and information day for businesses, and the Saturday will be more of a family day, with interactive exhibits and displays with an emphasis being on training, skills, education and the future workplace.

And as in previous years, Lancashire Business View is a main backer of the event.

Whilst named the North Lancs Expo, and with all businesses welcome to attend, The Chamber is particularly focused on the Morecambe Bay Economic region, tapping into the opportunities presented by Lancaster university's new £41m Health Innovation Campus and the forthcoming Eden Project.

Each year gets more exciting with different exhibitors and industries.

Vicky Lofthouse, chief executive officer of The Chamber, said: “This is the third year that we have run the Expo and each year gets more exciting with different exhibitors and industries.

“We know the problems that the area faces – skills shortages and skills retention and the Expo is the first opportunity to talk directly to the next generations about what a wonderful area we have to live, work and play in. For too long the lure of the major cities has beckoned many of our youngsters away but we see no reason why we shouldn’t keep our future talent to ourselves.

“In addition, with the UK leaving the European Union, it’s an ideal time to increase the volume on the conversation regarding exporting and importing for our local and regional firms.”
