Newly refurbished venue wins Tripadvisor award

The historic Astley Hall in Chorley has been awarded the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award, after ranking in the top 10 per cent of listings on the popular reviews website. 

Formerly Certificate of Excellence, the Travelers’ Choice recognises businesses that earn consistently great reviews. Winners are determined based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor over a 12-month period.

The Grade I-listed venue reopened in early 2022 after an extensive £1.1m renovation programme.

Councillor Peter Wilson, deputy leader of Chorley Council, said: "We are delighted that Astley Hall has received this certification and best of all, it’s based on visitor reviews and ratings. We know Astley Hall is special, so we’re delighted to know our visitors think so too, which has led to this recognition. 

"Over recent years the Hall has benefited from significant council investment, to preserve it for future generations and to enhance the visitor experience, which visitors are enjoying and recommending to others."

Astley Hall is located within Astley Park, which is home its own much-admired features and facilities, plus the park is host to many events throughout the year such as the award-winning Chorley Flower Show, Theatre in the Park performances and Astley Illuminated. 

Astley Hall is open from September to November on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with Thursdays and Fridays for booked guided tours only.
