The Burnley office of Trevor Dawson Chartered Surveyors Limited has confirmed that a letting has been completed to Diaverum UK in respect of the anchor unit within Briercliffe Shopping Centre Burnley.

Briercliffe Shopping Centre is located in a densely populated suburb of Burnley and is close to both Burnley General Hospital and Burnley College.

The letting of the anchor unit in the shopping centre is further good news for the development following a letting earlier this of three adjacent units to a government department which is currently being fit out for occupation. Other occupiers in the centre already include Coral, William Hill & Iceland.

Comprising 13,525 sq.ft. the unit has been let to Diaverum Facilities Management Limited who work in close partnership with the NHS to deliver high quality renal services for people with chronic kidney disease.

The company have grown over the last 10 years to become one of the largest independent dialysis providers in the UK caring for mor than 2,000 patients via their network of state of the art renal centres throughout the UK. They now have a network of over 30 kidney treatment centres.

Work is currently underway to refurbish the centre which is aiming to become operational in Autumn 2021.

John Hempton, who acts for the new tenant comments: ”Diaverum is an international company operating over 700 clinics worldwide. The new clinic in Burnley is an interesting illustration of how diversification can assist in regeneration as well as providing great benefits to patients and health care. Another facility is currently being fitted out in Ulverston  to treat patients in the area of Barrow-in-Furness “

Michael Cavannagh of Trevor Dawson Surveyors comments: “This is a great letting for the centre and the medical use for the unit diversifies the type of occupiers within the shopping centre in what is a difficult retail market  This follows the recent letting of 3 units to a government department and we are pleased to confirm that the final unit within the development is also currently under offer which will bring the shopping centre to 100% capacity’’.

Trevor Dawson Chartered Surveyors acted jointly with Mason & Partners on behalf of Waypoint Asset Management.
