Expanded Sub36 Awards now open for entries

The Sub36 Awards - the only programme dedicated to celebrating the best young business talent in Lancashire - is now accepting nominations with four new categories open for entries.

Sub36, organised by Lancashire Business View magazine, showcases the achievements of those aged under 36 who have significantly impacted their own businesses and others around them. A year-round calendar of editorial features and networking and social events is capped by a celebration of the best of the best, with this year’s awards event taking place on October 21.

The awards categories span all industries and all stages of a career, and anybody from an apprentice to a serial entrepreneur can be nominated.

The four new categories introduced for 2021 are the Career Development Award for those who have invested in themselves, Sub36 Sales Star Award for those who have excelled at this particular skill set, the Sub36 Business Award for companies owned primarily by those under the age of 36, and the Wellbeing Champion Award for those who have made an impact on wellbeing in the workplace.

The entry deadline is Friday July 16. The finalists will be announced on Friday July 30, before all finalists are given a final chance to impress the panel of expert judges on Wednesday August 11.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View and founder of the Sub36 Awards, said: “This has undoubtedly been a most difficult year and for many people in business under the age of 36 it has occurred during the most formative years of their careers.

That’s what has made the achievements of so many, throughout the county, so impressive. When times were toughest, those representing Lancashire were the most creative, the most hard-working and showed the most resilience.

“All of those who have succeeded in a historically challenging year deserve to be celebrated and we can’t wait to hand out awards to the very best at this year’s hotly-anticipated ceremony.”

Though the 2020 campaign - including judging and awards presentations - was successfully held online, it is hoped that the 2021 awards will take place in a live environment. The team continues to monitor government guidance on this matter.
