A new mural celebrating South Shore's heritage and community spirit has been unveiled in Blackpool.
‘Within Ya Grasp’ is the first artwork to be completed as part of The Big HeArt Project, an initiative designed to use public art to celebrate local stories, bring communities together and create artwork inspired by Blackpool's past and present.
The project was funded through Arts Council England, with additional support from the Pride in Place Impact Fund, agreed between Blackpool South MP Chris Webb and Blackpool Council.
The mural was developed by The Butterfly Effected after founders Christian Fenn and Hayley Garner set out to bring large-scale public art to Blackpool.
Angela Kershaw, head of business growth at Blackpool Council, said the mural celebrates South Shore's identity and encourages residents and visitors to explore the area's history.
The unveiling marks the start of The Big HeArt Project, with further murals planned across Blackpool to highlight different aspects of the town's heritage, communities and culture.
