New scanable payment system to be rolled out to over 485,000 car park pay points

Manchester-based, VST Enterprises, has been contracted by payment platform specialist, Ecom6, to roll out its unique scanable payment technology system across car parks nationwide.

The major upgrade will see unique VCode symbols installed on over 485,000 pay points by accredited car park operators as a more convenient alternative to cash or text payments.

VCode allows users to scan the code from distances of up to 100m with a free, downloadable app on their smart device and make the payment in three simple stages.

Louis James Davis, CEO of VST Enterprises, said: “We live in a world where we rely on technology for so much of our day-to-day lives. Making payments as simple and secure as possible is something we’ve come to expect with almost every transaction we make, whether it’s physical or digital and car parking should be no different.

“Unlike traditional payment methods, VCode provides drivers with a speedy, convenient alternative for paying for parking. Users simply need to tap in their registration number, the duration of their stay and confirm payment with their pre-stored bank or PayPal details.

"The VCode app is compatible with all iOS and Android smartphones and tablets and, unlike bar or QR Codes, VCode can be scanned from any media, from distances of up to 100m and at virtually any angle.

“Texting or calling parking numbers can often be the only alternative to cash payments in car parks, which can be a lengthy process, sometimes seeing the public have to physically stand at machines and manually insert bank details every time.

“This technology cuts out the need to do all of this. The ability to scan the code from such great distances means that users can often be parked up in their vehicle and scan the code from the comfort of their car and top up from any location.

“No longer is there the need to frantically hunt for loose change in every compartment of your car!”

Nova Rehman, commercial director at Ecom6, added: "We are delighted to be able to partner with VSTEnterprises, using VCode to greatly improve the customer experience of car park users throughout the UK."
