Bamber Bridge based-based heat pump supplier and distributor, Freedom Heat Pumps, has announced the appointment of Graham McCracken as its new managing director.
Graham brings more than 20 years of experience in customer insight and strategic leadership, including a decade at Certas Energy, the UK’s largest independent fuel and energy distributor.
He’s built and led high-performing teams, driven strategy, and championed customer-centric change across multiple sectors.
In his new role, Graham aims to focus on providing customer service excellence, showcase the company’s technological expertise, and strengthen supplier relationships at a time of growing demand in alternative heat sources.
According to new research by thinktank E3G, the average household could halve its annual heating bill by switching to a heat pump instead of a gas boiler, with the right Government support provided.
Freedom Heat Pumps, which provides low-cost, green alternatives to rising domestic heating prices, was acquired by Certas Energy, part of DCC PLC, in 2022 and Graham joined the team in August 2025.
As part of the focus on customer excellence, Graham has appointed six new members of staff to the business.
Graham said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for Freedom, as the industry enters a transformative stage. Customers are not only looking for quality heat pump products but excellent service and technical support too.”
“Alongside our nationwide distribution network, we’re investing in people and technology that caters to the demand, to meet that challenge and the ever-changing needs of our customers.”
“We’ve always strived to go above and beyond for our customers, and I’m eager to continue that legacy as we enter the next phase of our journey.”
Freedom Heat Pumps was launched in 2010, and it distributes heat pump systems to installers, merchants and housing developers for major brands including Samsung, Hitachi and Midea.
