New affordable homes for Ribble Valley village

Croft Goode Architects has handed over a development of six new affordable homes in the Ribble Valley village of Chipping.

Designed on behalf of Liverpool Housing Trust and Ribble Valley Homes, the homes consist of six, three-bedroom semi-detached properties and enjoy distant views over the surrounding countryside.

All six properties on Church Raike have been made available for affordable rent to local families. All have been designed to meet the government’s Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3. The houses incorporate photovoltaic roof panels and have also received Secured By Design accreditation.

David Croft, a director of Croft Goode Architects, said: “There is huge demand for affordable family homes in rural communities like Chipping, and these new properties are helping to ease the shortfall in the area.

“We worked closely with Ribble Valley Borough Council and the local community to come up with a development that meets the needs of the area, while remaining to sympathetic to the local surroundings.” Christine Grimshaw, managing director for Ribble Valley Homes, said: “We are delighted to have added to the number of properties we currently own in Chipping all properties are now let to local families in housing need.”
