Evans Cycles rides into new Preston premises

The UK’s largest privately owned retailer Evans Cycles has taken new premises at North Road Retail Park, Preston, reports commercial property consultants Robert Pinkus & Co.

The cycling specialist takes 7,500 sq ft retail space from landlords Worthington Properties Ltd. and will be Evans Cycle’s first store in Lancashire and their 52nd store in the UK. Robert Pinkus & Co. and Lamb and Swift act as joint agents on behalf of the landlord.

The store is now open to the public and sits prominently within the retail park fronting North Road, an established out-of-town location on a main arterial route into Preston city centre, and close to other national retailers such as B&Q, Wickes, Bathstore, Iceland Frozen Foods and American Golf.

Danny Pinkus, partner at Robert Pinkus & Co. said: “We are delighted to welcome Evans Cycles to North Road Retail Park who will provide a great boost to the area. The unit offers Evans Cycles great visibility and passing trade on a busy city centre road and we wish them every success with their new store.

“The association of a quality national retailer such as Evans Cycles will draw renewed interest to the park and we anticipate that it won’t be long until the park is trading at full capacity.” A further two retail units totalling 14,017 sq ft are available at Phase 1 of the park and can be combined if required. The units also benefit from 50 on-site car parking spaces. A further four units of 47,572 sq ft are also in the pipeline for Phase 2 of the development and can be reconfigured to provide bespoke accommodation tailored to suit individual requirements.
