Conlon Construction has completed a £3m project to establish a new research and development laboratory at Sika, Miller Road, Preston.
Hoping to achieve recognition as a European Centre of Excellence for liquid roofing, the facility will lead the group’s development in this technology, whilst also helping to synthesise new resins and curing agents for a wide range of products.
Greg Turner, project manager for Sika, said: “This new purpose-built development has more than doubled the size of the original R&D Lab and will encourage creativity amongst the workforce.
Michael Conlon, chairman at Conlon Construction, said: “We always enjoy developing facilities that will bring business and employment into the county and it has been a pleasure to work with a local company.” Sika is planning to officially launch the facility later in the year.
