Award-winning law firm Napthens has launched a brand-new podcast, focused on issues facing people and businesses across the north west and UK.

The firm produced all episodes internally in collaboration with partners, the University of Lancashire and Liverpool Media Academy (LMA) and their students to record all episodes. Colleagues from across the firm are involved in presenting a range of topics across the first season of episodes.

Aptly named Debrief: The Legal Podcast, the first series begins with head of corporate, Keith Melling and head of wills, trusts and probate, Farida Isaji, talking about the upcoming inheritance tax changes.

This episode is titled, Planning for Inheritance Tax Changes in April 2026, is now available to listen to on Spotify and can be found here – Debrief: The Legal Podcast.

Farida and Keith discuss the issues faced by business owners, including many of the firm’s clients, in relation to the new inheritance tax rules coming into force April 2026.

In future weeks the podcast will feature content from all departments across the firm, including residential conveyancing, litigation, real estate, family, commercial and rural.

Stephen Faulkner, managing director at Napthens, said: “This is an exciting time for the firm as we continue to evolve and develop new channels of communication.

“Debrief: The Legal Podcast will provide an alternative avenue for us to deliver analysis and key insights from our people who are experts in their field, reaching not only our clients but reaching people and businesses that may be looking for support and guidance.

“Inheritance tax, and the upcoming changes, is subject many of our departments are supporting clients to understand, so it feels apt to have Farida and Keith discussing one area that might make a difference to people facing these challenges.

“Our podcasts will be both informative and also entertaining, to ensure we deliver those key messages in a way that will resonate with our audience, helping them to understand their particular situation and make informed decisions.”
