Expanding Lancashire law firm Napthens has appointed five new trainees to its ranks.

Farhan Saleh, Matthew Parr, Gillian Hanson, James Stocker and Roshni Valibhai have joined the firm, and will now spend time working across a range of services, gaining experience as they train.

Farhan from Preston will be based in the firm’s Blackpool & Fylde office and is currently working with the Commercial Property team. He joins after completing his Legal Practice Course (LPC) in Manchester.

Matthew, of Farington Moss near Leyland, is also working in the Blackpool & Fylde office within the Residential Conveyancing team, having previously worked in personal injury matters at a firm in Southport.

Gillian from Clitheroe, is working within the Litigation and Dispute Resolution department in Preston. Prior to joining Napthens, Gillian was employed by a large international firm as a paralegal and worked in-house with a FTSE 100 insurer client in their subrogated recoveries department.

James who lives in Bacup, is working in the Rural department, based in Blackburn. He is currently assisting the team with rural property transactions, and will gain experience in rural Wills and estate planning during the year.

Roshni from Blackburn is working in the firm’s Corporate department, based in Preston, having joined Napthens initially as a paralegal within Corporate in 2014. In her role she assists on high value transactions, as well as managing a workload of intellectual property and general commercial work for a broad range of clients.

Partner Helen Lucking said: “The appointment of five trainees demonstrates our commitment to providing clients with the highest level of service.

“The legal sector is a competitive one for those hoping to create a career, and we are convinced that Farhan, Matthew, Gillian, James and Roshni will be excellent additions to our business. “During their time as trainees they will have the opportunity to spend time in a range of departments before they settle on a specialism, and I know the teams will make them very welcome in their first steps towards a new career.”
