Lancashire-based accountancy and advisory firm MHA, the UK member firm of Baker Tilly International, has appointed experienced restructuring and business recovery professional Nicola Clark as a partner.
Nicola, who joins from a top 10 accountancy firm, will help MHA to expand its restructuring services in the North West, working across the firm’s Preston, Lancaster, Manchester, Liverpool and Kendal offices.
A qualified and licensed Insolvency Practitioner, Nicola has over 20 years’ experience in restructuring and recovery, advising lenders and the directors and shareholders of businesses facing challenges.
She has a wide range of skills dealing with administrations, liquidations, corporate simplification, tax-driven shareholder restructuring, and recovery of asset value for lenders across the property sector.
Andrew Feeke, partner at MHA and head of the firm's Manchester office, said: “As a firm, we continue to expand our advisory services across the UK and felt the North West presented an opportunity to further grow our restructuring offering in support of business owners, banks, funders and the wider professional community.
“Nicola is an enormously experienced insolvency professional with an impressive record of collaborating with clients to guide them through the advisory, restructuring and business recovery process. We’re thrilled she has chosen to join us to develop and lead our restructuring team in the North West.”
Nicola added: “This is a great opportunity for me to help MHA establish and grow a dedicated restructuring service in the region. My approach is always to help clients and their advisors understand all the options available to them and then to focus on providing pragmatic solutions.
“I want to use the experience, skillset and relationships I’ve developed throughout my career to support clients to achieve good outcomes, whether that’s businesses facing challenges, or solvent restructuring processes aimed at unlocking shareholder value, corporate re-organisation or group entity simplification.”
As a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, Nicola is able to represent clients in formal insolvency proceedings. Her experience also includes acting for property lenders as a Law of Property Act Receiver.
