Membership of Blackburn Youth Zone’s Patrons Network

As part of our corporate responsibility mission and our commitment to community involvement, we’ve recently signed up as a member of Blackburn Youth Zone’s Patrons Network, aiding the team in their goals to provide much needed support and care services to the young people of Blackburn and Darwen.

Blackburn Youth Zone exists to help young people in the area achieve a bright future by promoting cohesion, encouraging their aspirations through a commitment to the development of skills and personal and professional growth, and making continual investments into their general health and mental wellbeing.

During the national lockdown, the Blackburn Youth Zone team quickly adapted their services in order to reach young people at home, delivering food parcels and online activities, whilst offering one-to-one support for the most vulnerable BYZ members.

Now that its doors are back open, members can once again engage in activities and re-establish the connections they’ve built, all whilst adhering to Government guidelines in a COVID-safe environment.

“As a local, family-run business, our people-centred culture is something we are particularly passionate about,” says Stephen Fagan, commercial director at Fagan & Whalley. “Through our dedication to our apprenticeship schemes and links to local colleges, we understand the importance of providing the support and development our younger generation need in order to thrive and flourish in their aspirations. We are honoured in becoming a proud patron supporter of the Blackburn Youth Zone, with the important work they do providing fundamental foundations to support a stronger community initiative for future generations.”

“Fagan & Whalley is an impressive firm with a long-standing local history,” commented the Chairman of Blackburn Youth Zone, RT Hon Jack Straw. “Their commitment to serving the community is commendable, especially considering the timing of their support, which comes at a critical time amidst uncertain economic circumstances. They are a business that puts people at the heart of what they do. They will make a fantastic patron for the Youth Zone.

“On behalf of the whole Youth Zone team, volunteers, members, and the board, I would like to thank Fagan & Whalley for their support, which will help us to improve the lives and prospects of thousands of local youngsters.”
