Mary Speakman, managing director of Code Galaxy, was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses programme, in partnership with Bloomberg, for the ‘Most Likely to Be a Unicorn’ award.
The awards, held at Tate Modern, brought together some of the UK’s most ambitious and high-growth businesses, with Mary named as one of just five finalists nationwide.
The recognition highlighted her leadership, ambition, and the growth potential of Code Galaxy as a leading Lancashire-based bespoke software company.
While the recognition marked a significant milestone at the time, it also signalled something bigger - the trajectory the business was on.
Since then, Code Galaxy has continued to build momentum and make waves.
Over the past year, the company has accelerated the development of innovative technology products, alongside delivering complex, high-impact software solutions for organisations across multiple sectors.
This dual focus has strengthened its position not just as a development partner, but as a forward-thinking product-led technology business.
Under Mary’s leadership, Code Galaxy has remained focused on solving real operational challenges through scalable, intelligent systems - helping businesses modernise, streamline, and unlock new opportunities for growth.
Mary Speakman said: “Being recognised as a finalist was a proud moment for the team and a strong signal that we were building something with real potential.
"Since then, our focus has been on turning that potential into progress - investing in innovation, scaling what we do best, and continuing to push the boundaries of what’s possible with technology.”
Today, Code Galaxy is continuing to scale its impact, expand its product offering, and play an active role in shaping the future of digital innovation across the North West and beyond - reinforcing the trajectory that first led to its recognition.
