Amanda Parker, the Lord Lieutenant for Lancashire is calling on the county’s thriving business community to step forward and gain the national recognition it deserves by applying for the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise.

Widely regarded as the most esteemed accolade for UK businesses, the King's Award for Enterprise celebrates outstanding achievement in innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

Winners of the award benefit from global recognition, enhanced credibility, and increased opportunities for growth.

With Lancashire being home to a diverse range of pioneering and high-performing businesses, the Lieutenancy is keen to see a significant increase in applications from the region in the upcoming awards cycle.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Mrs. Amanda Parker JP, said: “Lancashire has a proud heritage of innovation, industry, and entrepreneurship.

"We know there are many remarkable businesses across our county doing exceptional work that deserves recognition on a national and international stage.

"The King's Award for Enterprise is a golden opportunity to showcase Lancashire's excellence, and we strongly encourage eligible businesses to apply.”

To support local companies in the application process, the Lieutenancy is working closely with business support organisations, local authorities, and chambers of commerce to provide guidance and information on how to submit a strong application.

As part of that process an event is planned at The University of Lancashire, Harrington Auditorium, University of Lancashire on March 18th 2026 between 16.00 - 18.00.

During the event a full guide to applications will be given and a series of past winners will explain the process and what it means to them to have won an award.
