Local electricals firm standing tall

Simply Electricals is ending the year strongly whilst high-street brands struggle.

The award-winning Lancashire electrical goods experts, which has stores in Rawtenstall and Bolton, has outlasted some of the county’s biggest names such as Comet, Zavvi and Virgin Megastores.

The company, which has been running for over 70 years, specialises in televisions, Hi-Fi equipment, home cinema systems and kitchen appliances.

Its ethos is based on a combination of dedicated customer service and expert product knowledge. With this approach, Simply Electricals has managed to see off competition from large retailers and maintain a more personal relationship with their loyal customers.

Store manager James Munro said: “We have had a good 2013 and we are hoping that continues next year. The large retailers have struggled throughout the financial crisis but by being more personal and customer-focussed we have managed to do well.

“We are very grateful that people are supporting a local business like ourselves.”

Simply Electricals has stuck to the method of making sure each customer receives maximum attention, which is shown by the large number of personal television instalments the company completes on a weekly basis.

The company has been rewarded for its business model and success with a number of awards, such as: The Best of Bolton Business Award, the Lancashire Telegraph Retailer of the Year and the Independent Business Award. As an example of how Simply Electricals always put the customer first, they are committing themselves to installing televisions purchased in store all the way up to Christmas Eve, to ensure customers can tune in to the Queen’s speech and festive movies on Christmas Day.
