Lifescape hires first employees and wins first contract

A new social enterprise has launched to offer employment opportunities to ex-offenders, and has won its first major contract after taking on its first employees.

Lifescape, which is based in Preston, provides grounds maintenance and related services.

All employees are up-skilled and put through training environments in which they learn how best to function as part of a team and develop as individuals.

The business was founded by Warren Ward and Warren Kozera, of procurement specialisr Barkers, along with Dominic Munro of GSU Landscapes.

Having employed its first three members of staff in July, Lifescape has been appointed by one of the North West’s largest and well-known firms, delivering services across its estate.

The team of Warren, Warren and Dominic announced their intention to deliver a social enterprise at the beginning of 2018, with the ambition to focus on employing and giving opportunities to those trapped in poverty or seeking employment, including the homeless, ex-offenders, those in drug and substance rehabilitation, and ex-forces personnel that are struggling post-service.

Warren Kozera said: “Lifescape was established to help rebuild broken lives, supporting individuals as they reintegrate or look to develop following time away from society.

“We are delighted to be delivering our services and working with our first set of employees, having established, branded and equipped the organisation in just six months. We intend to double the work force and further market ourselves over the course of the year. “Having recently signed our first client, delivering a range of grounds maintenance services, we can see the proof in our concept and that the business community supports our vision and is willing to invest in an organisation that is providing stability and help to ex-offenders.”
