LANX, the Lancashire-based footwear brand has announced England rugby icon Will Greenwood, has become a LANX brand ambassador.
LANX was built on craftsmanship, character, and community, and Will Greenwood embodies all three.
Will Greenwood said: "I’m excited to be an ambassador for LANX: a brand with big ambition, and a real connection to the rugby world.
"There’s something special about working with a team that values quality, and I’m looking forward to what we’ll build together over the coming seasons.”
Marco Vaghetti, LANX founder, said: "Bringing Will Greenwood on board as a LANX Brand Ambassador is a proud milestone for the brand.
"He’s a true legend of the game, with roots that run close to home. Will’s achievements on the pitch speak for themselves, and having someone of his calibre represent LANX helps solidify our growing presence within the rugby community. It’s a partnership built on shared values and local pride.”
William Greenwood was born in Lancashire in 1972 and grew up just down the road from LANX HQ in Hurst Green.
He started out at Stonyhurst and moved on to Sedbergh, quickly making a name for himself on both the cricket pitch and rugby field.
Will kicked off his rugby career at Preston Grasshoppers, then stepped up to Harlequins and Leicester Tigers, two clubs we’re proud to call LANX partners today. He went on to be awarded 55 caps for England, and was part of England’s 2003 World Cup-winning squad.
He also played in three British and Irish Lions tours, including the iconic tour of 1997. That team, that victory, and that shirt still carry cult status today. Look out for our nod to the iconic 1997 Lions shirt, which launched last month.
