Language Insight achieves 20% international growth during 2019-2020

In April 2019 it was announced that Language Insight was a winner of The Queen’s Award For Enterprise In International Trade. Language Insight provides language services including transcription, translation and interpreting to clients around the world, across multiple sectors.

Language Insight received the prestigious Queen’s Award as a result of their strong international growth which they achieved by providing high-quality language services to clients in Europe, Asia and the US.

A year later since winning the award, Managing Director Donna Twose shares Language Insight’s recent success in a series of interview questions:

How did it feel when you were informed that Language Insight had won The Queen’s Award For Enterprise?

We were delighted when we found out that we had won The Queen’s Award. We felt truly honoured that Her Majesty The Queen had personally approved our application and our services. At Language Insight, we always put quality first and we believe this is why our clients choose our services repeatedly. It was great for our teams to get the recognition that they deserve for all the hard work that they’ve put in over the past 11 years.

What were the key factors that made Language Insight successful at winning The Queen’s Award?

The factors that made our application successful were our high-quality services and our strong international growth. In the three years leading up to the award, our overseas sales had grown by 230% and 49% of our revenue came from international trade. We also have a client loss rate of less than 0.05%.

What has been your highlight during the whole journey, from the announcement that you were a Queen’s Award winner to today a year later?

Although the whole process has been exciting and has brought about many opportunities, the highlight for me personally would be when the Lord Lieutenant of Lancashire came to visit our HQ to present the award to us. It was a memorable day for myself and our staff who all got to meet Lord Shuttleworth. It was a great way to say thank you to all of our teams for their hard work, as without them our success wouldn’t be possible.

How has the award affected Language Insight’s performance in the past year?

Since winning the Queen’s Award a year ago, our success has continued. When we won the award in April 2019, 49% of our revenue came from international trade. We are pleased to say that this figure has increased to over 50% (as of April 2020), with overseas sales increasing by a further 20% compared to when we won the award last year.

What are Language Insight’s goals for 2021?

This year has certainly been a challenge for many businesses across all industries due to the impact of COVID-19. Language Insight has been very fortunate in that we already had the systems and capacity to move to a remote-based working model so there has been little disruption to our usual operations. During these uncertain times, we have made sure that we continue to be as flexible as possible with our clients in order to meet their needs and we will continue to do this throughout 2020 and 2021. In 2021, we will continue to grow our client base for our market research language services, an area in which our teams consistently excel. Other areas where we will be pushing for strong growth is our Legal Services and Digital Services.

Language Insight is prepared for another year of strong international growth and they are excited to see what other opportunities come as a result of them winning The Queen’s Award. Language Insight also offers their congratulations to all of this year’s Queen’s Award winners.
