CancerCare and Lancaster-based award-winning fitness and leisure facility 3-1-5 Health Club have announced the renewal of their long-standing partnership.
It will continue their joint mission to help individuals and teams take on some of the world’s most iconic challenge events in support of local people affected by cancer and bereavement.
3-1-5 Health Club has supported CancerCare, a local independent charity helping people across North Lancashire and South Cumbria affected by cancer, life-shortening illnesses and bereavement, for many years.
Through Run For Charity, an innovative event-hosting platform, participants can now easily sign up for their choice of UK or international challenge events while fundraising directly for CancerCare.
The platform allows charities to purchase single event places as needed, reducing financial risk and expanding access to a wide variety of events, from marathons to obstacle races.
Last year, the partnership saw fantastic participation from both CancerCare supporters and 3-1-5 members, with entrants taking on events such as the Manchester Marathon, Tatton 10k and Tough Mudder, all whilst raising vital funds.
Lisa Lambert, event lead fundraiser at CancerCare, said: “We’ve had some incredible participants in our first year, each raising vital funds for CancerCare.
"We already have eight people signed up for major 2026 events including the London Landmarks Half Marathon and the Paris Marathon.
"These events will raise thousands for our charity, and we’re so grateful to 3-1-5 for their sponsorship and belief in the power of movement to support mental and physical well-being.”
A 3-1-5 Health Club spokesperson added: “Our mission is to positively change lives through active living.
"By partnering with CancerCare, we’re proud to not only support fitness and community engagement but also to help local families facing life’s toughest challenges.”
