Lancashire MINI centres scoop national marketing award

Two Lancashire-based MINI Centres have won a national marketing award.

The Bowker MINI centres in Blackburn and Preston beat off competition from more than 130 other UK centres to win the Marketing Champion category at the MINI UK Retail Awards.

Bowker MINI was the only retailer group located outside of the South to be shortlisted in the marketing category.

The first place finish saw Bowker MINI go one better than two years ago when they finished runner up in the same category. 

The award was announced by David George, MINI UK Director UK and Ireland, alongside TV comedian Alan Carr at a live virtual awards ceremony on Thursday night. The national ceremony was streamed online for the first time since 2009.

Amy Lancaster-Hall said: “A national accolade like this is big news for any retailer. Bowker MINI is no exception. We are especially proud to have won in a year of challenging circumstances; when so many of us have had to adapt and evolve the way we work.

Bowker MINI has been shortlisted for marketing excellence in five out of the last eight years. In 2015, Bowker Motor Group marketing manager Amy Lancaster-Hall won the MINI Marketer of the Year category.

This year, the marketing team at Bowker MINI was celebrated for its launch of the MINI Electric and their ability to engage with agencies whilst upholding MINI brand guidelines. The result for Bowker MINI saw robust growth of on-line sales channels allowing customers to shop safely from the comfort of their home.

Bowker MINI Blackburn was also shortlisted in the customer service category.
