Stewart joins founding directors Charles Bryning and Alan Newbold, who this year are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the company. Third director Martin Wigley joined the team in May 1997.

Stewart brings experience in the corporate market,  joining the team from Moore and Smalley, where he managed a large portfolio of SME clients in the corporate audit department.

Charles Bryning said: “We have a general portfolio at Jones Harris, but we’re finding that demand is increasing more and more within the corporate area, because of our excellent levels of service and depth of often specialist knowledge which enables us to provide a city service right here on the Fylde Coast, which the many high growth businesses appreciate. The knowledge and experience that Stewart brings to the table can only be a benefit to both us and clients.”

Stewart also has industrial experience, having started his career as an engineering apprentice at BNFL then deciding that he would like a career change and retraining as an accountant. He was also managing director of his own engineering business before dedicating his time to accountancy.
