Investing in our safety with cutting-edge technologies

Technology 01.jpg.jpg

At Fagan & Whalley, road safety is of utmost importance to us – which is why we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our new telematics system across our vehicle fleet. After several months of planning, we integrated the new Samsara technology – on the 1st of July and have since seen some brilliant results across various areas of the business.

How is this technology elevating our fleet safety?

Since investing into the new technology, we have benefitted from:

Sophisticated vehicle analytics

We now have access to a range of detailed vehicle analytics, from increased access to fuel consumption data, vehicle idle times and more, all of which are invaluable for improving fuel economy.

Real-time driver behaviour data

With access to increased data on driver behaviour, we can now deliver accurate feedback on their driving. This contributes to our pledge to increase the safety of roads and provides us with an enhanced ability to support our drivers where they may need it.

Environmental accountability

Finally, another benefit of this system is its ability to deliver precise data on the CO2 emissions of each vehicle. It also allows us to track fuel and energy usage. This is a crucial tool as we continue to explore greener fuel alternatives.

How are our drivers finding it?

Last month, we caught up with our driver, Joe Grzebieniowksi, who commented: “Since we switched to Samsara, my workday has become much more streamlined. The real-time data helps us to improve our driving habits and creates safer roads for everyone.”

What does it mean for our operations?

Operations managing director, Daniel Fagan, said: “What we’ve achieved with the integration of Samsara’s cutting-edge telematics system is a significant step for us. It’s more than just technology; it’s a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

“This system allows us not only to understand – but to actively improve every component of our operation, from driver behaviour to our carbon footprint. As we move forward, Samsara’s data-driven insights will be invaluable in improving our services and fulfilling our ongoing commitment to safety, sustainability, and the well-being of our employees.”

An exciting step forward for Fagan & Whalley

Ultimately, this marks a new chapter in our journey towards safer roads and increasing the public’s safety. As we embrace technological advancements and challenges, we look forward to not just keeping pace with the industry standards and expectations – but setting them, too.
