Introducing degree apprenticeships

By Lancashire Business View

07 Nov 2017

The new degree apprenticeships give employers the opportunity to upskill existing employees with funding from the government and gives employees the chance to secure a fully accredited degree without the debt.

Degree apprenticeships are also a great recruitment tool in their own right, as they can be offered as a training opportunity to attract new staff.

UCLan’s degree apprenticeships have been designed in collaboration with local employers.

The university is launching a brand new BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technical Solutions in September 2017, a brand new fully accredited degree course that has been designed with local digital business leaders to fill skills gaps.

Employees working for a digital agency or working in a digital role in another sector can use the BSc Hons Degree Apprenticeship to develop to the next level and help their employers successfully grow.

Students on the course will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge, practical skills and understanding of a broad range of digital technologies, web design and development.

They will learn how to solve technical and human problems relating to the use of digital technology systems, develop the ability to analyse digital requirements and information from a variety of sources, building a professional profile with a confident approach to their work.

On successful completion of the full three-year programme, graduates receive an award of BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions, from the University of Central Lancashire.

University of Central Lancashire

UCLan is the biggest university in Lancashire. We offer a full range of courses with specialisms in dentistry, advanced engineering and in September we are launching a brand new BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technical Solution which has been designed and developed in conjunction with local employers.
