Groundswell Innovation - the innovation agency in Lancashire - has hired a new apprentice, Tabitha Bell, as a marketing assistant.

Tabitha started on the Kickstart funded programme and, following a successful six months, joined the team in January as an apprentice.

Passionate about social change, Tabitha describes herself as someone who is ‘focused on making positive impact’. Our rapidly changing (and declining) environment, alongside gender and racial equality are the most pressing issues she hopes to tackle.

Tabitha believes in the power of conversation to help people work together to unravel the issues at hand.

By listening closely, asking open questions, and approaching conversations inquisitively and mindfully, she effectively puts herself in the shoes of others.

In doing so, Tabitha aims to understand why people think in a certain way and takes time to engage with their viewpoints. She gives people a platform to explore their emotions and opinions, in a calm and open-minded manner.

She’s been part of some of Groundswell's most important projects - including Crewe Towns Fund, our work in Preston (her hometown), Peer Networks - helping to facilitate focus groups and business meetings.

It is her empathetic and curious nature which makes Tabitha so well placed in her role as research and engagement facilitator. She’s also a content creator and marketer for our business, and as part of her apprenticeship is picking up a social media qualification from the brilliant team at Juice Academy.

Support for getting Tabitha on board, and in her apprenticeship journey, came from Emma Woan at Education Business Partnership North West, Craig Watson at Blackwatch Associates and Georgia Fitzgerald, and the team at Juice Academy.
