A wide range of live job vacancies will be promoted at the Hyndburn Jobs Fair, taking place on Monday at Accrington Town Hall.
The free-to-attend event will run from 10am until 3pm and is open to people of all ages. To ensure the fair is accessible to as many people as possible, it will also run throughout the lunchtime period, allowing those currently in work or education to attend.
The Jobs Fair provides an excellent opportunity for residents to learn more about employment and training options available across the region. Attendees will be able to speak directly with employers and training providers about current opportunities and future career pathways.
A fantastic range of exhibitors will be on hand, including Lancashire Constabulary, the Royal Air Force, The Senator Group, Dunbia and North Lancs Training Group, representing a variety of sectors and roles.
There will also be two free workshops available during the event. The popular ‘Work From Home Hub’ workshop is already fully booked, while limited availability remains for the ‘Employment Essentials’ workshop, which runs from 10am to 11:30am. This session will offer practical advice on developing CVs and improving presentation skills, as well as useful tips for employers on how to prepare effective job descriptions.
Anyone wishing to book a place on the remaining workshop can do so by emailing [email protected]
The event will also feature a special appearance from Dragons’ Den star Kirsty Henshaw, founder of Kirsty’s.
Originally from Preston, Kirsty has grown her business into a household name and designed and established the UK’s largest fully dedicated free-from manufacturing site. In 2010, she became the youngest entrepreneur to secure investment on Dragons’ Den, receiving backing from Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne.
Cllr Scott Brerton, Cabinet Member for Business and Growth at Hyndburn Borough Council, said: “This is an incredible opportunity for people who are looking to get into work or are considering a change in their career. Events like this bring real opportunities and support together in one place, helping residents take positive steps towards employment and personal growth.”
The Hyndburn Jobs Fair is free to attend, and no booking is required to visit the event.
Funding for this event has been provided by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
