Hurt Plant Hire has officially rebranded to Fox Brothers (Leyland), trading as Fox Group.
This rebranding follows the 2020 acquisition of Hurt Plant Hire by Fox Brothers, a move that strengthened the company’s position as a leading provider of plant hire, construction, muckaway and aggregate services across the UK, creating a group of over 650+ employees across 15 sites.
Founded in 1932, Stellex Capital Management acquired a majority stake in Fox Brothers in September 2024, helping transform the company into a fully integrated, circular economy construction materials solutions business.
The rebrand brings Hurt Plant Hire fully under the Fox Group identity, creating a unified brand that reflects the company’s shared values, expanded capabilities, and ambitious vision for the future.
Paul Fox, chief executive of Fox Group, said: "This rebrand marks a proud milestone in our journey.
“Hurt Plant Hire has been a valuable part of our group since 2020.
"Bringing it under the Fox name is not only the natural next step but a strategic move that supports our continued growth, strengthens our market presence, and delivers greater value to our customers.”
Since the acquisition in 2020, Hurt Plant Hire has continued to operate with the same dedication to service and quality that earned its reputation.
Now, as part of the wider Fox Group, the business is even better positioned to meet the evolving needs of contractors, developers, and infrastructure projects across the country.
The rebranding is effective immediately, with all services, personnel, and operations continuing under the Fox Group brand.
In September, Lancashire Business View reported the Blackpool headquartered Fox Group had bought NMS Civil Engineering, an established contractor in the North West with key activities in road planing, recycling, civil engineering and barriers.
This acquisition, has been described as another 'significant step' in Fox Group's transformation into what it describes as "a fully integrated circular construction materials business, aiming to deliver sustainable solutions to the construction industry".
It is the second acquisition by the Fox Group since being bought by Stellex Capital Management and followed in the footsteps of the purchase of J Fisher & Sons, a key player in heavy haulage, road planing and asphalt reprocessing in the North West.
