Preston-based HomeServe has been named as one of the UK’s best companies for supporting its employees’ work-life balance.
According to data from Glassdoor, the average work-life balance rating across all companies for full year 2013, 2014 and 2015 remained at 3.2 in 2016. HomeServe came third with a score of 4.2, only 0.1 behind table-topping Goodman Mason.
Greg Reed, chief marketing officer at HomeServe said: “We believe if you take care of your people, they will take care of your customers and the rest will take care of itself. This means creating a culture where people genuinely enjoy coming to work every day because they feel engaged and feel what they do really makes a difference in our customers’ lives.
Creating a fun, happy, collaborative culture is something HomeServe has worked hard to achieve. Flexible working and events such as Halloween fun fairs for employees and their families and regular fundraising and volunteering are just a few examples of the activities that have helped HomeServe achieve the accolade. HomeServe’s commitment to its People is underpinned by a unique set of People Promises in which everyone has an equal voice and the opportunity to get involved. Earlier this year, HomeServe’s chief executive officer Martin Bennett was named joint winner of the coveted ‘Most People-Focused CEO” award at HR Magazine’s Excellence Awards. Martin also achieved a CEO approval rating of 95per cent on Glassdoor earlier this year, putting him in the top 20 of Glassdoor’s annual “highest rated CEO” rankings based on the confidential reviews of employees.
